Gardening

We started our gardening week, but we still have more gardening to do.  We have only started with our pots. Soon we will fill the garden as well.  This will be the kids project to work on throughout the summer when we are outside.

As you all know I had applied for a grant and got approved for $800 to spend on anything pertaining to physical activity.  $150 of it went to this gardening stuff to help support healthy eating.  I am so excited.  This is my first time ever to receive a grant.  I feel so confident I just recently applied for another grant for $500.  Wouldn't this be great to get both.  It will be for items in our backyard.

I looked up and this is what I saw, I couldn't help but to laugh and when he took the pot of his head after walking around he was even laughing at himself. Then he attacked the tomato cage and got stuck in it. This shows his great personality he has.

One of our vegetables to plant, onions.

Yes the soil was kinda flying everywhere, what do you expect everyone was shovelling into the wheel barrow. Emma was checking out her arm full of soil.  Sorry Emma!!

Not only did we get the soil but we also go the nutrients to mix in.  They want the kids to be guaranteed the vegetables will grow.

We are transferring the soil into the pots.  Our pots will sit right next to our garden this summer.  Full sun!!

Can you only imagine all the kids with a hand full of tiny tiny seeds waiting patiently their turn to lay them into the trench?  The seeds went everywhere, so we just covered them up.  Who knows, the radishes may be mixed in with the carrots.  We tried our best, we just want to watch them grow and eat some.

Cutting skills..looking through magazines for any kind of healthy eating.

Our completed healthy eating chart.  I can't wait for all the fresh veggies to grow in our garden.  We are going to have a blast with this, but I know it will be a lot of work.  Another thing to add to my busy crazy schedule.

Painting pots to plant some grass and sit in the window ledge of our classroom.

Hahaha, Allen is really concentrating on painting his pot.  The whole tongue thing is toooo funny.
