SCIENCE EXPERIMENT that turned to a mess.

First we had water in the jar then we added oil to observe and see what the water does. Next salt, then last, food coloring. Eventually the oil bubbles turned blue and stayed seperated from the water.

But the mistake was.....After the kids were told how important it is to keep this on the table because it will ruin the carpet.....someone must have forgot.....and guess what....yes....blue, oily food color all over the carpet. (a big area)

Emergency scrubbing but obviously you can't get it out. Sometimes I shouldn't trust little ones. I just wanted them to have fun with their experiment throughout the day. I learned my lesson.
